Base Plate + Moment
Steel column base plate with moment — bearing, anchor tension & plate thickness (AISC DG1).
Validation, assumptions & limitations Download validation report (PDF) ↗
This calculator is verified by 4 independent tests comparing its output against closed-form statics, NDS/SDPWS design-standard values and published worked examples. Full case-by-case results are in the PDF report.
Assumptions
- LRFD; concrete bearing per AISC J8.
- e = 6.4 in <= e_crit -> full bearing, no anchor tension.
- Plate thickness from cantilever-strip bending.
Limitations
- Large-eccentricity anchor-tension branch validated by the JS parity.
- Anchor breakout/pryout (ACI 17) checked separately.
Results are for preliminary design and must be confirmed by a licensed engineer against the current adopted code and project-specific conditions.
